KWABENA OPOKU-NTIM

Kwabena is a young astute entrepreneur and leader with a vast knowledge in developmental issues and understands the business environment and is constantly exploring, evaluating and developing business opportunities. He is an experienced entrepreneur with a well-developed global network and lots of achievement to his credit. He has successfully founded, grown and nurtured several start-ups into well established businesses which are contributing to the socio-economic development of Ghana and the global economy as a whole. He possess the wisdom and insight to recognise opportunities and challenges, and the ability to realign resources to deal with change.
He started his career as a Research Assistant at University of Cambridge, Centre of Sustainable Development and later played various roles in banking at National Investment Bank (NIB, Ghana) before venturing into full-time entrepreneurship.
He is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon. He holds post graduate certificates in BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS and LEADERSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP all from Oxford University and a certificate in FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton Business School. He has participated in a number of seminars and symposiums and has been awarded several certificates, including FINANCING FOR DEVELOPMENT and RISK AND OPPORTUNITY: MANAGING RISK FOR DEVELOPMENT both from the WORLD BANK, plus several other management certificates.

DR ALEX OPOKU(PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons), MCIOB, MRICS)

Chairman

Alex is an Associate Professorand Consultant at UCL Bartlett School of Construction & Project Management. Prior to joining UCL, Alex worked as a Senior Lecturer and Course Director for the MSc QS programme at the London South Bank University and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Development in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. He has extensive technical and management experience in the UK construction industry, having been involved in projects with Willmott Dixon and Haymills Contractors for years. He has extensive quantity surveying, cost management, sustainability, whole life costing, value for money and project management experience in the built environment industry. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK), Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS). Alex holds a PhD in Construction & Project Management.

PROF. VIAN AHMED

Executive Director

Prof. Vian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, UK. She has gathered over 25 years of industrial and academic experience in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. She has broad expertise and experience in construction and project management. She is highly skilled and experienced in objective based planning, execution, monitoring and controlling processes, using PRINCE 2 principles. She has chaired and organised a number of national and international workshops and seminars and secured a number of research grants. She played vital roles in the infrastructural developments at Dubai and Canary Wharf, London. She obtained a (BEng.) in Civil Engineering, (MSc) in Construction and (PhD) in Computer Aided Learning in Construction.

DENNIS O’CONNOR

Executive Director

Dennis is a philanthropist, lawyer and a construction expert. He has been involved in a variety of complex infrastructure and building projects with values between £60 - £200 million. He was the Quantity Surveyor for the upgrade and maintenance of London Underground Rail and the infrastructural development of North West Cambridge. He is an expert in Contract Law and Financial Management in the construction and infrastructure development industry. He holds an LLB, MSc Quantity Surveying and MSc International Business and Economics.
